Friends Community Garden

Spring has sprung and we're ready to start working in the garden!

Call Pam Nash at 541-852-9040 if you are interested in helping in the Friends Garden.

GARDEN PROGRAM

We harvest together in the summer and fall. We work together all year long. If there is a sunny day in the winter and we can connect - we will!

Donated produce is placed inside near the sanctuary entrance, or by the Free Little Pantry near the main office. If you need a meal, please let us know.

We believe that:

  • Where there is land (or an empty lot), there should be food growing!

  • Food is meant to be shared, especially with those in need.

  • Spending time in our garden is another way to worship.

In the garden, we work together and talk amid the serenity, nature, and peace that God provides.

Refiner's Fire

Refiner's Fire is held on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month.

Refiners Fire meets outside at 6:00 pm in the Shelter. This is a casual gathering of folks who explore a wide variety of topics led by any and all the participants. Some bring snacks and enjoy a time of socializing at 5:30 pm before the conversation begins. Our fire pit and heaters keep us cozy in winter months, but we recommend dressing for the weather! Come join us!

We have a pizza oven and barbecue grill that we often fire up for items like hot dogs or burgers (meat and meatless) to add to what folks bring each week for themselves or to share as a potluck.

In the summer months, we might enjoy treats like homemade ice cream topped with raspberries from the garden, grilled veggies, fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, or other fresh garden items.

Knitting Circle

KNITTING CIRCLE — FIRESIDE ROOM

11:00 AM ON MONDAYS

Each week, the Eugene Friends Knitting Circle gathers in our cozy Fireside Room to learn from each other and enjoy one another's company as they work on projects they will donate to local charities or to offer as part of our ministry abroad. Participants range from brand-new knitters to experienced ones.

The hand-knitted scarves and children's hats made by our knitting group participants play a significant role in our community and international outreach. This year, our group knitted infant caps to bring on their ministry to Kenya.
